Designer

We are Glismand & Rüdiger, the men behind the Danish design company byKATO. In short, we are dedicated to creating contemporary, highly usable designs for everyday living. We aim to bridge the gap between commercial design and high-quality craftsmanship, by using honest materials and paying close attention to even the tiniest detail. When we designed the iconic Scandinavia Sofa, we focused on originality and authenticity – we wanted to create a timeless design with character and a history. A history of classic traditional craftsmanship that really takes heart and soul to achieve and will result in designs crafted to last lifetime after lifetime. The Scandinavia Sofa series is all that and even more. With its clean lines, crafted details and thought through compositions it is a true Scandinavian design icon.
